Redlight King

Redlight King is a Canadian-American rock band formed in Hamilton, Ontario by Mark “Kaz” Kasprzyk in 2009. Redlight King have recorded 3 full-length albums and toured around the world playing some of the largest festivals in North America and Europe.  Known as a band’s band, their sound has a timeless rock pulse with a heavy groove and anthemic hooks.  The newest album “In Our Blood” is what Kaz calls a straight ahead rock record, which he wrote and produced in Los Angeles, California.  Long time collaborator and band member Julian Tomarin, contributed his guitar playing and co-wrote three of the songs on the album, while the band went back to their roots acquiring the help of WAX studios, who produced their most popular album “Something For The Pain” in 2011.  With the addition of the heavy hitting drummer Randy Cooke, these songs jump off the speakers, and trigger excitement and urgency.  “Nothing was sacrificed in making this record, these songs were very thought out and careful details went into the arrangements, but the actual recording was honest and authentic” says Kaz.  Without a doubt, his new album brings the human spirit back into rock n roll and is set to release late 2022.  There is a lot of angst and push back in the lyrics regarding an old broken system that has conditioned the middle and lower class on this album, however, it has fire and grit, many moments of awareness and hope that is inherently in all of us.  The first single from “In Our Blood” bears the same name and hits everywhere May 6th.

Kasprzyk made news in 2011 for his success in securing permission from Neil Young to allow him to sample Young's 1972 song, "Old Man".  The song was featured on the debut album Something for the Pain.  Old Man peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Number 26 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks.

Redlight King's most successful song and second single off Something for the Pain, "Bullet in My Hand", peaked at numbers 3 and 28 on Billboard's Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks and Alternative Songs charts, respectively. Redlight King was also a part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival in 2012.

The band released its second studio album Irons In The Fire late 2013.  The single "Born to Rise" appears in the end title credits for the 2014 film "Draft Day," starring Kevin Costner. The band’s third full length album “Moonshine” is extremely eclectic and was recorded with a very analog traditional rock sound.  It was produced by Jimmy Messer and released independently on Parts and Labor records in 2020.  Redlight King has had musical guest appearances on both Late Night with Conan O’brien and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.  Their music has also been featured in such films as The Italian Job, Draft Day, soundtracks on Iron Man 3 and The Avengers, television shows such as Person of Interest, as well as having songs licensed to ESPN, NASCAR, NFL, CFL, NHL, NBA, and MLB.
